Global Mission

The earth is full of nutritious ingredients, and yet, maintaining a nutritious diet is becoming harder and harder. Why? Economic incentives are taking over individual health incentives, and the result is the normalization of widespread consumption of an ultra-processed diet particularly in lower income communities.

Simpleats is a youth-led food and nutrition platform: it focuses on
preparation recipes that makes meals lower effort, lower cost and higher
in nutrition for everyone, regardless of socio economic background.
In particular, Simpleats raises awareness about food costs empowers
health conscious choices and nourishes lower-income communities
globally by showing them that health and low cost can go hand-in-hand.

International Partnership

WFF ALEP x Simpleats

Step 1: Outreach

Step 1: Outreach

The World Food Forum's (WFF) Agrifood Leadership Education Programme (ALEP) is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering youth to become catalysts for change in agrifood systems. In partnership with Real Food Systems (RFS), and through the support of the AGCO Foundation and KidsforSDGs, the programme is designed to provide young leaders with essential tools, skills and mentorship, to equip them to make a tangible impact on the future of agrifood systems.

Step 2: Research

Step 2: Research

Step one was diving into research —exploring global youth-led initiatives, scanning directories of local chapters, and reaching out to organizations that empower young voices.

Step 3: Selection

Step 3: Selection

That’s when I discovered the Zimbabwe National Youth Chapter led by Moyo Sinosizo, which emphasises youth-led agri-food systems change. Specifically, the project brings together students, elders, and village leaders to revitalise traditional food knowledge in rural villages.

Step 4: Collaboration

Step 4: Collaboration

Through extensive outreach and a deep desire to connect with Moyo's project I scheduled a meeting call to get to know her project even further. Despite the hundreds of kilometers between us—and the time zones that tried to complicate things—we managed to coordinate a meeting that worked for both of us. Here's a snippet of our first conversation!

Step 5: Framework

Step 5: Framework

From there, we developed an international framework—a collaborative model designed to empower youth voices, foster cross-cultural dialogue, and create sustainable impact in our communities. What began as a single meeting evolved into a partnership rooted in shared values and global vision.

Step 6: Flagship Event

Step 6: Flagship Event

Finally, our journey culminates in our flagship event in October of 2025 in the heart of Rome. This gathering marks a defining moment for our partnership, where we will publicly unveil the international framework we've built together and celebrate the power of youth-led collaboration.
